And with that, Netflix has taken to seize opportunities in producing anime series for its platform in order to get the huge anime viewers around the world right into their platform. You’ll notice more and more anime series produced by Netflix ending up on YouTube channel’s recommendations.

And like any Netflix produced content, it’s pretty much a hit or miss situation in the Anime department. But when it hits, it hits the ball out of the park. Today, we’re listing anime shows produced for Netflix or shown first on the platform. These anime series feature interesting storylines, unique art styles but most importantly, a guaranteed fun watching experience!

We arrived in a weird world where we’re introduced a world that’s quite depressive. Apparently, magic users come to this world to test their magical powers on unsuspecting regular humans who will be turned into horrific mutants that will suffer a painful life. Little did these latest duo of magic users know, the last victim of their powers isn’t sitting around and waiting for a painful end. He’s hunting down magic users to get them to undo their magic on him which turned his head into a lizard’s head. On top of that, there’s another person living inside his mouth.

Dorohedoro is quirky, weird and just silly most of the time, but the beautiful friendship between Nico and Caiman is something we look forward to every time, as well as the individual stories of each wacky character in this show. Expect a show that is different and that will entertain you at all times.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Turns out, Cyberpunk is a meh game, but an awesome anime series. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime series, based on Night City from the game and takes us deeper into the world of cyber punks who are dealt a bad hand in life, and do whatever it takes to get out of the huge wealth class that exists in this future. We follow the adventures of a street kid, David, who loses everything in a drive-by shooting. And with the “good guys” being absolutely nonchalant to his existence and his pleas to save his loved one falling on deaf ears, David decides to join the wrong side of society, living as an Edgerunner so he could win once.

His troubles will soon double as he installs a military-grade tech into his own body, pushing him into taking on dangerous situations and putting his life in danger with every use. 10 out of 10 will cry at the end.

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood

In 2021, Dota finally got its own anime series. DOTA: Dragon’s Blood follows the adventures Davion, the dragon knight who in an epic duel to the death with a dragon has now merged with the dragon that he has hated his entire life. However, new revelations about the real threat to the realm surface and Davion’s perception about his life’s work changes drastically. We also get different storylines featuring various different characters from the game itself.

Dota: Dragon’s Blood is a bold attempt by the studio to take the beloved game’s lore, which is quite complicated and confusing at times, and turn it into an entertaining journey for everyone.

Castlevania

Netflix has a knack of taking popular game franchises and turning them into entertaining anime series. Castlevania is the next game turned into an anime series on this list. Set in medieval times, a disgraced vampire hunter is now the only thing standing between humans and a horde of otherworldly monsters that serves none other than Count Dracula. Only instead of getting the usual story of him being a greedy being that wants to live forever, we get a tragic story that makes us side with him as humans took away the one person he loves the most in the world.

The anime adds the meat and potato to the well known Castlevania lore. Follow the journey of Trevor Belmont, as he becomes humanity’s shield against all that is unholy.

However, they’re going back to an Earth that is no longer the same. It has dramatically changed since humanity’s departure, and the creature of their suffering seem to be long dead. A great anime about humanity’s will to survive, ingenuity and their fighting spirit. Will it stand against Godzilla and the new planet?

The Gods of the universe held their meeting. And in this meeting that happens once a millennium, the Gods take a vote on whether to destroy humanity. The Gods came to a conclusion that humanity has finally reached its final sin. It is time for the human species to go extinct. But wait! The Valkryies evoked Ragnarok, a one-on-one battle to the death between hand selected warriors of humanity.

That’s right, folks: Record of Ragnarok is about battle between human warriors and Gods from different pantheons. You have Adam, the first human during it out with Zeus, a legendary sumo wrestler throwing hands against the Hindu God of Destruction, Shiva. We even get Jack The Ripper going against Hercules. And the list goes on.

The fights are absurd, the action is entertaining and the backstories are unique.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf

The Witcher has done a great job capturing the imagination of people through its books and especially through its games. The world built around the Witcher sage is rich and filled with details that would only be described as Eastern Europe folklore on steroids. And then we have The Witcher, a group of mutant humans who are enhanced to combat this new horror that has taken root in the world. For some coin, of course.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf follows the adventures of Vesemir, teacher of Geralt and Ciri in his prime. We get to see the Witcher clans in their prime, the School of Wolf with its former members. We also get to watch the reason of their fall and how Vesemir evolved from a self-serving Witcher to a father figure to all the last members of the surviving Witchers in the world.
